You can save yourself a lot of trouble by assuming the reason people of the opposite sex agree to spend time with you is that they like you.
Jennifer was a blonde. That meant she heard a lot about being blonde. It didn't help that she was a bit spacy at times.
Something I did not know about Jennifer even many months after I knew her was, she was incredibly introverted and shy. This was not something I would have assumed because she was very beautiful. But personality is not beholden to experience. You can be shy and introverted even though the whole world is very interested to know you.
I used to tease Jennifer a lot. Of course, I teased a lot of people at that time in my life. I thought it was funny, and so did those around me. This was apparently not part of my personality for I don't do it much anymore.
I liked drugs. Psychadelics more than anything, and mushrooms were at that time very easy to get ahold of, and Ecstasy was sort of just beginning and carried error warnings with it. I loved mushrooms because they gave you some real intense soul-searching at times and some very hilarious moments at times. I was into both at the time.
Jennifer told me she wanted to try mushrooms. But she didn't want to try mushrooms. She wanted to spend some time with me. How do I know this? Because it was the first thing she said when the drugs really hit us.
And, wow! I was really not ready to hear that.
And you know what? She was really not ready for mushrooms! Wow, that girl went absolutely crazy. She was running up and down the halls naked at one point, like an escaped mental patient. I wish I was making this up.
Anyway, the point is, I could have saved us both a lot of trouble if I had known that the reason she had asked me for the experience in the first place was, she was looking for an excuse to get to know me. Then, instead of give her mushrooms, I would have just taken her on a date, and, you know what? That probably would have been a lot better for me than doing all those drugs!
